It’s taken me forever to shoot this. It’s been on my plate for the last month. If you haven’t noticed, One Month Here ended—woah!—a month ago. It was hands down an experience everyone needs to have. In the meantime, I’ve moved in for the rest of the summer into New York and am having a hell of a time here interning at blip.tv. It has been a summer of epic...

I had been contemplating it for a little while, but I pulled the trigger. I got my lip pierced this afternoon at a place called Stichpiraten (literally meaning “stabbing pirates”). It didn’t hurt too bad. Today’s tweet is read from @castusalbuscor. My mother is going to kill me…

It was a crazy weekend in Berlin. I reconnected with CouchSurfing.org which happened to be throwing two parties this weekend. I met people from all over, including a guy named Ian from Canada who place the Jew’s harp and beatboxes. Cool. Today’s tweet is from @gulddina. Thanks for watching!

I’ve spent most of the week hard at work on another project, but I still managed to get some fresh air. I tried to go to the ECMC bike messenger championships, but my plans were cut short by a rainstorm. I also ended up attending an opera where I nearly fell asleep. Today, @coop670’s tweet is read on the show. Thanks everyone for watching!

So last night I inadvertently completed two challenges. I went to the Kookaburra Comedy Club and saw the Laugh Olympics team there. There were only a handful of people in the crowd. It doesn’t seem like there is much of a demand for English improv in Berlin. Afterward, I ended up going out to a bar with some of the players where I completed my second challenge of the evening. Thanks to...

Yesterday I went to the the top of Berlin’s Fernsehturm or “TV tower.” It wasn’t on my list of challenges, but it was something fun to do. Special thanks to @mdusing, who gets this episode’s badge of awesome.

Today I explain some mishaps with the plunger as well as some logic behind my trip. Today’s Badge of Awesome goes to @gulddina for creating a YTMND for One Month Here. Check it: onemonthhere.ytmnd.com

Yesterday, I crossed 2 challenges off of my list! They were: ride the S-Bahn ring, drinking a beer at each stop and visit the Klub der Republik. Take that, world! Big thanks to @JDFirst and his friends for being my tour guide throughout the night. It’s pretty remarkable that like-minded people can find eachother via things like Twitter to have an awesome night out. This is definitely one of...

I’ve got friends in town, so today’s episode is short. I did clog my toilet, though. That turned out to be much more of an ordeal than expected…

I spend most of today out in the field, scoping out challenge locations. Berghain looks eerie and deserted. It’s likely the exact opposite at night. I need some swimming trunks… Tweets read today from @iMuesli , @andrewseely , @JDFirst , @grasp183 and @mxchickmagnet86 Thanks for watching!

After coming back from dinner last night, I promised myself a nap. Well a nap turned into a full nigth of sleep. Crap! The night before I was out until nearly 5:00 am with some new friends at a bar called Zapata. Today I read tweets from @bernmatthews , @_noni_ , @gulddina , @cmsimike and @jitle. I have completed my first challenge: “Eat a pretzel in front of the Brandenburg Gate.” Boom. That was easy.™ Now on to the next. Last night I whipped up a little Web application for tracking my life’s lists. Check it out and make your own at slashlists.com Thanks for watching and sharing this episode! Next up is Day 5!

I’m getting in touch with my inner artists and spending small sums of money to do so. I’ve acquired a hat and a grunge patch that reads “War is Illegal.” Such a patch goes directly on the hip messenger bag. I ran into an American girl last night on a similar journey. And some new challenges are in: Find a restaurant with air conditioning, free public restrooms and free...

I start off today’s episode with a quick tour of my place. It’s a single-bedroom spot in Kreuzberg located on Kottbusser Damm. It’s 40 square meters. I have no idea what that means. The list of challenges are in! They are as follows: Try to get into the club Berghain Go on a date with a German girl, only speak in German Sunbathe nude in the Tiergarten Ride the S-Bahn ring...

So I spent all of today traveling and I am beat. I flew from Los Angeles to Berlin with a layover in New York. I didn’t get much sleep in on the plane. On my flight from New York to Berlin, I sat next to a make-up artist from Leipzig and got to practice my German a little bit. Now let the craziness begin. The challenges have been coming in. If you have anything you think I should do or see...

So I’m leaving tomorrow for Berlin! Unfortunately I’ve had a few hiccups. My friend accidentally swiped my wallet and I thought it had been stolen. I cancelled all of my cards, so now I will be traveling to Berlin without any debit cards! It’s frightening to say the least. If you’d like to submit any challenges to me or follow my progress, check out the @OneMonthHere...

Here’s the second video! It’s a short one, but I talka bout finding a flight with the rock-bottom prices out there. The One Month Here Experiment is a little challenge I’ve put myself to. I will be living in Berlin from May 15th to June 13th this year with nothing; I don’t know anyone in the city. If you’d like to get in touch with, “at” me on Twitter:...

This is the first video of something I’m calling the “One Month Here” experiment. I will try to live in Berlin, Germany for a month and get by. A little bit about me: my name is Kelly Sutton and I currently  study computer science and film production at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I started a little blog and podcast for college students called HackCollege....

Hello, World!
Welcome to this weird thing I’m calling the “One Month Here” experiment. It’s simple: see if I can live one month somewhere in the world while trying to blend in as well as I can. It’s one part vacation, one part frustration (perhaps a frustcation?). This will be taking place from May 15 to June 13 of this year. Expect a video post very soon detailing exactly what...
